The 1st Baale BPS Open 2024 – all-Goa ranking tennis tournament is in progress at BPS Sports Club, Margao.
With over 200 participants in the mix, the tournament has garnered a record interest. After the veterans events threw up exciting contests, the matchups in the age-group category have also witnessed some intense battles.
Twelve-year-old Tvisha Sardesai has advanced to the semi-finals of the girls under-14 and under-18 categories. Nine-year-old Devaansh Naik has started out well in boys under-14 event.
Results: Girls u-14 (quarters) – Saanj Kunde beat SaraTrivedi 6-0, Avni Lotlikar beat Urvi Panandiker 6-4, Ahana Kumar beat Kimberly D’Sa 6-1, Tvisha Sardesai beat Analeah Menezes 6-0; Under-18 – Tvisha beat Ahana Kumar 6-1, Avni Lotlikar beat Nethra Soni 6-0.
Boys under-14 – Vivaan Agrawal beat Isaac Carvalho 6-1, Ethan de Ataide beat Kaivalya Devaraya 6-2, Shaurya Verlekar beat Timofei Polosin 6-0, Noah Carvalho beat Tarshish 6-0.
