The ‘players auction’ for the third edition of Panjim Gymkhana Members League (PGML3.0), will be held on 11th November 2023 at Panjim Gymkhana 10.30am onwards.
Dempo Challengers, the defending champions; Priority Titans, runners-up; former champions Prescon Panthers, Manas Mavericks, Baale Tigers and RC Goa made up the field last year. DNM Avengers are the new-entrants at the PGML 3.0, and the new addition means it will be a 7-team battle for PGML glory in the New Year.
In all, 117 players are in the fray at the upcoming auction. Twelve players have been retained by different franchises.
The retained players for PGML 3.0 are as follows: Ilyas Naroo & Ajinkya Kurtarkar (Manas Mavericks), Shushrut Nasnodkar & Sanjay Netravalkar (Baale Tigers), Kiran Shirvoikar & Saju Naik [‘Bond’] (Dempo Challengers), Harshad Gadekar & Swayan Naik (RC Goa), Vivek Karapurkar & Iftikar Aga (Prescon Panthers), Mohan Kholkar & Vedant Naik (Priority Titans).
Panjim Gymkhana president Manoj Caculo hailed the franchisees for strengthening the PGML brand. “With our continual pursuit of excellence, Panjim Gymkhana Members League has grown to be a Marquee T20 brand in Goa. We leave no stone unturned to ensure that good cricket is delivered amidst fanfare and party atmosphere at the iconic cricketing venue on the banks of the Mandovi River. We thank the franchisees for sharing our vision. We also wish the new-entrants DNM Avengers all the very best for the season,” said Caculo.
The franchisees on their part, have displayed tremendous passion in planning the auction picks over the the last two editions. Since the number of teams have grown this season, the fast-approaching auction is set to witness wider range of bidding wars for potential game-changers and match-winners!
