PANAJI: Immensely talented Goan artist Vitesh Naik has been bestowed with a rare honour of a scholarship of POLLOCK-KRASNER FOUNDATION (PKF), New York, USA. The grant of USD 10 thousand is for the year 2021-22. ‘Live News Goa’ had put the spotlight on this soft-spoken and humble Margao-based painter in August as his figurative art made increasingly captivating spectacles and Vitesh acquired big reputation with his classy creations.

Announcing the achievement of an international distinction, Vitesh conveyed his gratitude with a Facebook post.

“Thank you P.K.F. for believing in me and supporting my work…I am thanking my teachers, friends, well wishers, art lovers, galleriest, writers, critics and all those who are directly or indirectly supporting me all these years. My special thanks to Yolanda de Sousa, Rajendra Usapkar and Naguesh Rao Sardessai for their valuable help. This achievement couldn’t be possible without my family’s support and sacrifice. This award I am dedicating to my  “Aaiee” who taught me how to withstand and fight back against all the hurdles.”
