Maharashtra took the lead at the end of day one of competitive action, winning 4 gold medals, 3 silvers and 5 bronze medals at the 2nd Khelo India National Women’s League Ranking Judo Tournament 2023 (West Zone), at Campal-Panaji.
Gujarat with 3 golds, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals are in second spot in the sub-junior round of action held on Wednesday. In number three position, are Rajasthan with 2 golds and 3 silvers while hosts Goa opened the account with a bronze in the 44 kg weight category, which was won by Ima Pattil.
Earlier, Ajit Roy (IAS), Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Secretary Sports, Government of Goa, Yogesh Dhadve, Chairman, JFI organising committee and JUA Referee, HPM, SAI, Gurudatta Bhakta, President of Goa Judo Association, Siddeshwar Naik, GJA Secretary graced the inaugural among others.
