Project Director of Goa State AIDS Control Society, Dr. Gokuldas Sawant revealed that the incidence rate of HIV AIDS has come down drastically due to growing awareness and better treatment. He also highlighted the NACO initiatives like Red Ribbon Clubs and the ‘Red Run’ to impress upon the youth the healthy habits of sports and fitness thereby keeping them away from risky habits.
National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) and Union Ministry of Health in collaboration with Goa State AIDS Control Society (GSACS), will conduct the National Red Run finale for HIV/AIDS/STI awareness on Sunday, 8th October 2023.
The 10km race will be flagged off at 6.30am at the SAG Athletics Stadium, Bambolim, and will make it’s way on to Goa University road and finish at the SAG Athletics Stadium.
Joint-Director, Umakant Sawant was also present for the briefing.
