In addition to its extensive programme, India’s one-of-a-kind inclusive festival International Purple Fest, Goa – 2024, is providing a platform for Goans with disabilities to showcase their skills and connect with a wider audience, by offering an opportunity to exhibit and sell their products at this inclusive event.
Guruprasad Pawaskar, Goa State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, has urged Persons with Disabilities in Goa not to miss this incredible opportunity – a platform to proudly showcase their skills and products, fostering empowerment and recognition.
Scheduled from January 8 to January 13, 2024, in Panaji, Goa, this event, organised by the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of Goa in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa, and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India, is set to engage participants from across the world.
This year’s fest is set to captivate hearts and minds with its diverse array of nine engaging sections, each meticulously designed to foster awareness on the disability sector. These include Purple Conventions, Purple Think Tank, Purple Experience Zone, Purple Exhibition, Purple Fun, Purple Rain, Purple Kaleidoscope, Purple Sports, and Purple Spectrum.
The event features engaging discussions on health, education, employment, gender, and disaster management, along with fun activities like Cruise Rides, Bird trails, Movie Screenings, Drum Circles, and Stargazing sessions. The Experience Zone will provide insight into life with a disability, and the festival will also host National and International Sports Championships for Persons with Disabilities.
