Mormugao-based Fishery Survey of India, Government of India; celebrated World Hindi Day on 10th January at Ravindra Bhawan, Baina. MLA Krishna Daji V. Salkar, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Captain Manoj Joshi, Dy. Conservator, Mormugao Port Authority and Dr. Pradeep Jatal, Head of Department (Hindi), Parwatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Margao, were Guests of Honour.
Around 60 officials from Centeral and State Governemnt organisations like Mormugao Port Authority, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 and 2, Airport Authority of India, Marine Mercantile Department, NCPOAR, Goa Shipyard Ltd, Indian Oil, CISF, MPA and Airport, Light Ships and Light House, Central Port Health Department, Indian Navy, Goa University, Government College, Sankhali, FSI Mumbai (HQs), FSI, Mumbai Base, Central Pest Managemant Centre participated in the programme.
The function was presided by Dr. S. Ramachandran, Zonal Director, Fishery Survey of India, Mormugao. In his welcome speech Dr. S. Ramachandran brifed about World Hindi Day and its importance and need to conduct this programme as per the instructions of the Deaprtmemnt of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs. Captain Joshi while addressing the gathering, highlited the importance of language in public life and culture transistion. Dr. Pradeep Jatal in his keynote address highlighted present, past and futhre scenario of Hindi and its popularity. The chief guest Krishna Daji Salkar in his address, appreciated the efforts made by FSI for organising such event.
A booklet on yoga in Hindi Titled “Yoga-the Key to Healthy Life”was also releaed by the guests. Hindi symposium on “Hindi, the connecting soul of India” was also held on this occasion wherein 13 officials from various central and state government organisations expressed their views. Kids of Gopal Fun School performed classical dance and other activities.
