The Mormugao Zonal Base of Fishery Survey of India (FSI) Vasco, organised an “Open House & Marine Fishery Exhibition’ as part of the World Fisheries Day 2024 celebrations. Students and teachers from Government Murgaon High School, Headland Sada, Vasco; and Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Vasco, numbering around 100 students and four teachers, participated in the programme.
Students along with teachers visited the departmental vessels MFV Sagarika and MFV Yellow Fin berthed at Mormugao Port Authority where they were explained about various navigational and sea safety appliances, marine engines, fishing gears and more equipments used onboard the vessels.
A ‘Fisher Meet’ was held as part of the World Fisheries Day 2024 celebration for the benefit of the local fishermen of Goa.
