The stage was set for an exhilarating conclusion to the All Goa State Major Ranking Table Tennis Championship 2023-24, as the Multipurpose Stadium in Fatorda played host to a thrilling spectacle on Sunday. Amongst a myriad of outstanding performances and fierce contests, it was Aaron Farias (U17 & U19), Chandan Caro (U13 and U15), and Pradnya Caro (U15 and U17) who shone brightest, securing dual crowns each and showcasing their exemplary skills.
Alongside them, Arvind Kumar and Prutha Parrikar clinched the Men’s and Women’s singles titles respectively, solidifying their positions as the leading players in Goa’s senior division. The youthful talents of Ruhaan Shaikh and Aayushi Amonkar also dazzled, claiming victory in the U11 Boys and Girls singles competitions. Additionally, Ishita Colaco triumphed in U13 Girls, while Urvi Surlakar emerged victorious in U19 Girls, adding to the day’s excitement.
In the runners-up positions, notable performances were delivered by Giana George (GS U11), Aayushi Amonkar (GS U13), Neeza Kamat (GS U15), Urvi Surlakar (GS U17), Pradnya Caro (GS U19), Ishita Colaco (WS), Yug Prabhu (BS U11), Dhruva Kamat (BS U13), Khushal Naik (BS U15), and Rishan Shaikh (BS U17 & U19).
The culmination of Goa’s premier State Championship event was made possible by the collaborative efforts of the South Goa Table Tennis Council, the Goa Table Tennis Association, and the Sports Authority of Goa. Leading the proceedings as Chief Referee was Vishnu Kolwalkar, with support from GTTA member Santosh Verenkar. Distinguished guests including Arvind Khutkar, Director of DSYA, Vero Nunes (Former President, GTTA), and GTTA officials Sudin Verenkar (President), Christopher Menezes (Secretary), Aishwarya Nunes (Treasurer), Nilesh Kirtani (Jt. Secretary), Ajit Ghantker, and Kabir Pinto Makhija (Members) graced the closing ceremony with their presence, among others.
