Union Minister of State for Tourism, Shripad Naik along with Chairman, Khadi & Village Industries Commission,Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Manoj Kumar distributed Toolkits to the beneficiaries of Gramodyog Vikas Yojana of KVIC at NIO, Dona Paula on Saturday.
In all 180 machinery and toolkits were distributed to 90 artisans under the Village Industries Development Scheme. 20 potters from the districts under the State Office of KVIC, Goa, were given 20 electric wheels under the Potter Empowerment Scheme, 100 bee boxes were given to 10 beekeepers under the Honey Mission and 20 electricians and 20 plumber machines and 20 machines were given to 20 artisans and 20 Fruit-vegetable processing machines were distributed to the artisans.
Under the Village Industries Development Scheme, KVIC has so far distributed electric powered chalk to more than 27 thousand potters across the country, which has brought a big change in the lives of more than 1 lakh potters. Under this scheme, more than 6000 toolkits and machinery have been distributed to the artisans living in the villages, while under the Honey Mission Scheme, more than 2 lakh honey bee-boxes and bee colonies have been distributed to more than 20,000 beneficiaries so far.
