PANAJI: Goa Football Association has hailed the achievement of Goan FIFA referee Tejas Nagvenkar and AIFF Match commissioner Goculdas Nagvenkar, of having been appointed in their respective roles at the Hero ISL final between Mumbai City FC and ATK Mohun Bagan held on March 13 at Fatorda.
In a press release on Sunday, GFA said: “Tejas became the first Indian International Referee to officiate in the final.”
GFA president Churchill Alemao congratulated Tejas and Goculdas for their achievement, setting an identity for upcoming Goan referees and match commissioners. “It’s a big achievement for our referees which will boost and motivate other referees in the state. I hope to see more Goan referees at the national and international platform,” said Alemao.
Greg D’Souza, chairman of Referees Committee, Frankie Fernandes, Head of Referees Committee, and Maurice Almeida vice-chairman also praised and congratulated Tejas.
