PANAJI: Al Fatah Cricket Club scored a 5-wicket victory over Polem XI while Maratha Warriors defeated Rudreshwar by 21 runs in Bandodkar Trophy (knock-out) cricket tournament organised by Panjim Gymkhana.
In the match at PG ground, Campal today, Al Fatah won the toss and elected to bowl. They dismissed Polem XI for just 110 runs in 28.1 overs.
Udhay Desai (35), Darpan Pagi (19), and Aryan Kutkar (18) made notable contribution with the bat. Ravikumar Taresingh (4/51) and Craig Dourado (3/8) were the main wicket-takers.
In reply, Al Fatah Cricket Club achieved victory, reaching 111/5 in 22.1 overs. Abhinav Marathe (32), Craig Dourado (27) and Abhishek Dogra (20) made valuable runs. Kanishk Mosurkar (4/18) put in a lot of effort with the ball for Polem XI.
In the other match played at GCA academy ground, Porvorim, Maratha Warriors got the better of Rudreshwar by 21 runs. Put into bat, Maratha Warriors posted a total of 162 runs in 29 overs with Tek Bahadur top-scoring with 49. Jaipal Mada scored 22 while Naresh Parsekar made 21 runs. Rudreshwar’s Prathamesh Naik returned impressive figures claiming five wickets for just 17 runs.
Rudreshwar’s chase went wrong as they failed to bat well as an unit, getting bowled out for 141 runs in 42 overs. Only Switesh Vernekar offered a meaningful resistance scoring run-a-ball 49. Avishkar Mone of Maratha Warriors picked up three wickets.
