A multimedia exhibition on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, organised by Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Goa, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, in collaboration with the District Collectorate, South Goa, will be inaugurated at Mathany Saldhana Administrative Complex, Madgaon, on Thursday, 19th June, 2025.
The three-day exhibition, which will be open to the public till 21st June, will be inaugurated by Egna Cleetus IAS, District Collector, South Goa, at 10.15 AM in the presence of Tikam Singh Verma IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Goa, and other senior officials of the district headquarters. The event aims to promote the significance of Yoga in leading a healthy and balanced life.
The exhibition will showcase multimedia displays, informative panels on Common Yoga Protocol, and various audio-visual components. The CBC has also launched various initiatives such inter-school drawing competitions and short video-making contest for the promotion of yoga among the public.
Besides, a major event – Yoga Sangam – has been planned in collaboration with the District Collectorate and South Goa Police at Selaulim Dam, Sanguem, on 21st June, the International Day of Yoga. As part of the event, over 200 people will attend a workshop on Common Yoga Protocol and perform yoga at the dam site, which will be one of the signature yoga events being planned across the country on Yoga Day.
The IDY in 2025 will mark a significant milestone — promoting yoga as a global movement that enhances physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The IDY has successfully completed 10 years, and in 2025, the 11th edition is being celebrated in a truly global and inclusive manner.
‘Yoga Sangam’ or the main IDY event will orchestrate a synchronised mass yoga demonstration based on the Common Yoga Protocol at over 1 lakh locations across the country on 21st June. The national event will be led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
