Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant attended the State level 64th Teachers Day celebration function organised by Directorate of Education at Kala Academy, Panaji.
The Chief Minister awarded Chief Minister Vashistha Guru Puraskar 2024-25 to 10 teachers for their exemplary work done in the field of education, across the categories as follows.
Primary teachers: Chhaya Vaijanath Bokade – North Goa; Kamalakar Vishwas Desai – South Goa.
Secondary teachers: Manjiri Dattaprasad Jog – North Goa; Rajmohan Ramnath Shetye – North Goa; Kalidas K. Satardekar – South Goa; Mamata Tatoba Patil – South Goa.
High School Headmaster: Gurudas S. Palkar – North Goa; Aurora D’Souza – South Goa.
HSS Teachers:
Sunil Jagannath Shet. HSS Principal: Cintia Maria Borges e Abranches.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to every teacher of Goa for inspiring curiosity, nurturing values, and shaping young minds with dedication. I appeal To my dear students – respect your teachers, carry their values & to my dear teachers – you are the true torchbearers of knowledge,” emphasised Dr Sawant.
Secretary (Education), Prasad Lolayekar, IAS, Director of Education, Shailesh Zingde, Director, SCERT, Meghana Shetgaonkar, State Project Director, Goa Samagra Shiksha, Dr. Shambhu Ghadi were also present.
