Goa Heritage Action Group celebrated its 25th Founders Day with a felicitation ceremony to honour eminent personalities for their contribution to art and culture of Goa, in Panaji on Tuesday.
The felicitees included Maria de Lourdes Bravo da Costa, Jyoti Kunkolienker, Victor Hugo Gomes, Sendra Pereira, Ramkrishna Gaude and Agostinho da Cruz.
Environmentalist Dr.Claude Alvares and his wife Adv. Norma Alvares were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. Both the guests delivered an inspiring address to work towards conservation of Goan tradition and heritage including natural resources.
Historian, Prajal Sakhardande was the keynote speaker and set the tone for an enlightening evening. Renowned singer Sonia Shirsat belted out evergreen Konkani and Portuguese songs to keep the Goan heritage lovers spellbound.
