Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant launched the revamped ‘Mukhyamantri Swayam Rozgar Yojana’ for creating state -wide entrepreneurship and start-up- ecosystem, at EDC Panaji.
Secretary (Industries), Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS, Director, DITC, Asvin Chandru A, IAS, Director General, EDII, Dr. Sunil Shukla, and Managing Director, EDC, B.S. Pai Angel were also present.
Highlighting the need to ignite the entrepreneurship spirit amongst youth in particular, Dr. Sawant pointed out that Goan DNA had entrepreneurship ingrained in it in the past but it got lost somewhere and dependency has set in. “It is now time that Goa becomes Swayampurna in the entrepreneurs, skilling sector,” underlined the Chief Minister.
“This flagship initiative aims to transform our youth from job seekers into job creators, by providing: Collateral-free loans through EDC Ltd., Mentorship and training through EDII Ahmedabad, Capacity-building & digital literacy support,” he added.
Dr Sawant also emphasised that MSRY aligns with the vision of PM Narendra Modi under Startup India, Skill India & Make in India, and complements Goa’s initiatives under the RAMP Scheme, strengthening our MSME ecosystem.
“I also commend Dempo College, BNI Goa, and BNI Foundation India for launching India’s first B.Com (Honours) in MSME Management and Entrepreneurship, a true bridge between academia and industry,” stated the Chief Minister.
