CBC GOA OBSERVES NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY

Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Goa, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organised a special programme to mark National Girl Child Day at Mary Immaculate Girls’ High School, Panaji, focusing on the theme of girls’ empowerment and education.

A key highlight of the event was an inspiring talk on girls’ empowerment delivered by Nikita Gupta, Project Manager, Goa Livelihoods Forum, who encouraged students to pursue education with confidence and aspire for leadership roles in society.

Adding creative expression to the programme, girl students staged a meaningful play highlighting the importance of education for girls, which was well received by the audience.

The event also recognised students’ talents through prize distribution for winners of various competitions, including play, elocution, and drawing, which had been conducted earlier as part of the celebrations.

The programme began with an introductory address by Riyas Babu, Publicity Officer, CBC Goa, who underlined the significance of National Girl Child Day and the role of education in empowering young girls. Shri Shubham Gudadhe, Publicity Assistant, CBC, delivered vote of thanks. Around 300 students participated in the program.
