SONICS OVERCOME JADES, CLINCH ALL-GOA WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TITLE

Sonics clinched the women’s crown in an emphatic fashion, registering a clinical 26–18 victory over Jades in the final of the All Goa Basketball Tournament.

Displaying composure and control throughout the contest, Sonics took charge early and never relinquished the lead, going into halftime with a comfortable 12–4 advantage. Their disciplined defence and smart ball movement ensured they stayed ahead till the final buzzer, sealing a well-deserved championship triumph.

Kim Dsouza, who finished with 10 points, and Keiya Fernandes with 7 points, both of whom have previously donned the Goa colours, were the standout performers for the champions, with Kim being adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the Finals.

For runners-up Jades, Eneira Fernandes (6 points) and Amisha Lotlikar (5 points) put up a spirited fight in a losing cause. The tournament was organised by the North Goa District Basketball Association in aegis with the Goa Basketball Association and powered by Greenscape Realty. The closing ceremony was graced by sports promoters Lyndon Furtado, Roy Gaspar, Ramdas Naik, and Sandeep Heble, among others.
