IM Chakravarthi Reddy M (2147) of Telangana with 8.5 points from 9 rounds, won the 4th Unity Club All India Open FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Tournament 2026.
Chakravarthi defeated 15-year-old AIM Aarush Bhat (1964) of Karnataka in the final round on the black side, to finish ahead of Goa’s Joshua Mark Telles (U13)(2038), who bagged the silver medal.
The elder among the Telles brothers, got the better of specially-abled CM Samarth Rao (1778) of Karnataka on the 12th board.
IM designate Lal Mandar Pradip (Goa)(2206) beat Bhasker Brahma(1452) of Maharastra to clinch the third place. Mohd Khaja Abdul Latheef S of Andhra Pradesh (1823) got the better of state lad Kanishk Sagar Sawant (1724) to stand fourth. Mayuresh Laxlabh Desai (1773)(Goa)beat u-13 player Anvita Sathi of Karnataka to clinch 5th place.
The 6th to 10th place winners are as follows: Niraj Saripalli (Goa) , Aarush Bhat (Karnatak),Saras summer Powar (Goa),Kavish Gharse(Goa) ,and specially abled C. Samarth Rao (Karnataka); 11th to 25th -Bhasker Brahma (Mah) ,Praneeth H. S. (Kar),Vaishnavi Parab (Goa), Sumeetkumar M S (Kar), Achintya Bhat(Kar),Adarsh Patekar,Anvita Sathi,Akshaya Sathi, Aaryavat Naik Desai,Rishit Gawas,Tejas R Shet Verenkar,Balkrishna Pednekar,Aatharv Katkar, Aiden Jesus Savio Grao, Gurbaksh Khanna.
A total of 321 players participated out of which 171 are rated players in the tournament organised by Unity Chess Club in association with Salcete Taluka Chess Association under the auspices of Goa Chess Association and All India Chess Federation; at the newly-built Nagoa Village Panchayat Hall, Nagoa on 18th and 19th April 2026. Total prize-money of Rs. 2,00,000 and 85 trophies were up for grabs.
