Maharashtra archers continue to dominate the 1st All-India Indoor Archery tournament organised by Amateur Archery Association Goa under the aegis of Archery Association of India and Sports Authority of Goa at Dayanand Bandodkar sports complex, Peddem-Mapusa.
On Day 4 today, Maharashtra swept the under-18 Recurve boys competition with a 1-2-3 finish as Aditya Pawar clinched the Gold medal, Aadityaraj Pagare winning silver and Krushna Shinde getting bronze medal.
Andhra Pradesh’s Cherukuri Dolly Sivani continued her good run in the tournament as she added the U-18 gold medal to her kitty in the girls Recurve event. Maharashtra’s Vaishnavi Pawar finished second while Navya Raju from Tamil Nadu walked away with the bronze medal.
Maharashtra bagged gold and bronze medals in the Compound boys category through Om Randive and Kapish Satghare. Andhra Pradesh’s Magapu Suhas finished just one point behind Om and had to be content with the silver medal in a nail-biting elimination action.
In the Compound girls category, Andhra Pradesh were almost unstoppable in a close contest with Alluru Kanishka and Kopparthi ASL Reddy clinching gold and bronze medals respectively. Telangana’s Joshitha Veeravalli finished in second position.
Yogendra Hessa (Jharkhand) and Dhoushika Tasneem S (Tamil Nadu) topped the Indian Round boys and girls categories respectively.
