Maharashtra emerged the dominant state with its archers picking up 8 medals in the under-15 category competition at 1st All India indoor archery tournament organised by Amateur Archery Association Goa under the aegis of Archery Association of India and Sports Authority of Goa at Dayanand Bandodkar sports complex at Peddem-Mapusa, on Tuesday.
Maharashtra’s Adityaraj Pagare clinched gold medal in recurve boys category, while Rashi Garde was crowned champion in girls’ Indian round. Andhra Pradesh archer Cherukuri Dolly Sivani and Kudapa Venkata Pradhyumna won gold medal in recurve girls and compound boys categories respectively.
Tamil Nadu’s Ayanthika Gopal and Dhrupad from Kerala were the top-prize winner in compound girls and Indian round boys categories respectively.
Goa’s Shaneli D’Cruz participated in the compound round category. Snisha, Avni and Ritu represented Goa in recurve and Indian bow category. The third day’s competition saw more than 260 participants from all over the country. Day 4 will witness competition in the Under-18 age-group.
