Indian women put up a determined fight against Australia but the goalless draw was not enough to take the team to the semi-finals of FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium & Netherlands 2026.
In the virtual quarter-finals on Sunday, India battled hard till the final whistle in the must-win game for them after having suffered a tough 0-2 loss to hosts Netherlands in their previous encounter.
The result was, however, enough for Australia to claim the second semi-final spot from Pool E to join the Netherlands in the last-four stage.
