Indian men’s team went down 1-3 to hosts the Netherlands and crashed out of reckoning for the semi-finals stage at the FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium & Netherlands 2026 on Saturday.
The Netherlands lead the table and are followed by England, Argentina and India, who will meet Argentina on Monday as the Classification battle will shape the 5th to 8th positions.
The women’s team had gone down fighting 0-2 to their Netherlands counterparts on Friday night with coach Sjoerd Marijne praising the effort of the Salima Tete-led side. “Good performance from the team against the Netherlands, they played with passion, pride, conviction and guts and that’s what we always want to see from them. Now resting before the deciding match against Australia (10.30 PM IST) on this Sunday,” stated the Dutchman.
