Goa State Football Players Association (GSFPA) has announced its election schedule for the formation of its Executive Committee for the 2026-27 footballing calendar year. The elections will be held on October 18, 2026 at Fr. Agnel’s Ashram, Verna at 10 am.
The election process marks an important step towards establishing an elected body to represent the interests of football players in Goa and provide them with a formal platform to participate in matters concerning the players’ community.
The initiative to establish the GSFPA was undertaken by the Goa Football Association (GFA) in accordance with Article 20.3.2 of the AIFF Constitution, in line with the provisions of the National Sports Governance Act. The GFA had earlier invited former players who had represented India and the Goa State Senior Team in the Santosh Trophy to register as members of the association.
As per the official notice issued by the GSFPA, nominations are invited from eligible members for eight positions on the Executive Committee: President, Vice-President (Male), Vice-President (Female), Secretary, Treasurer, two Male Executive Members and one Female Executive Member.
The election process will follow the schedule outlined below:
– Submission of nomination forms: October 13, 2026
– Scrutiny of applications: October 14, 2026
– Withdrawal of nominations: October 15, 2026
– Publication of final list of candidates: October 16, 2026
– Election Day: October 18, 2026, at 10 a.m.
– Venue: Fr. Agnel’s Ashram, Verna, Goa
Interested candidates are required to submit their CV along with the nomination request to the association’s official email address gsfpa2026@gmail.com
The annual player membership fee, which also determines voting eligibility, has been fixed at ₹500 for the 2026-27 footballing calendar year. Membership renewal is mandatory, and only members whose membership fees have been paid and confirmed will be eligible to vote. Membership fees will be collected on Election Day.
