PANAJI: Goa-based ‘The Live Music Project’ (TLMP) has completed a decade of its very successful platform for all genres of live music. And rebooting for the next 10 years, TLMP endeavours to reach out to a broader spectrum of live art forms across the globe by forging national and international collaborations.
In a recently released short film ’10 Years of Incredible Music From Around the World in Goa’, the men behind TLMP – Vinesh Iyer and Darryl Noronha – highlight the journey and emphasise their vision for the future.
“We are looking at curating, producing, managing concerts and festivals around the country and the world, bringing together all the live art forms in one space,” says co-founder Vinesh.
Collaboration is a proven game-changer in the field of art as new partnerships generally cater to the growth of artists.
“We are looking for collaborators, partners…anybody who is interested in contributing, come and join the bandwagon,” calls out co-founder Darryl.
TLMP has ambitious projects and initiatives lined up including a world music school, record label, community radio etc.
Explaining the key aspect of TLMP, Darryl clarifies that the platform offers scope for emerging artists as well. “…TLMP was also musicians-centric rather than audience-centric. The audiences make up different types of preferences and choices, but for us, the key was the musician. And the platform was for the musicians to showcase what they are all about,” explained Darryl, who mourns pandemic-forced restrictions that have prevented TLMP from celebrating its 10th anniversary with a gathering.
Vinesh agrees that the tough times are deflating across all walks of life. Yet, he looks at the positives, saying: “It’s time to create, explore, it’s rethinking, rebooting… It’s about hope – that’s what keeps us going.”
