RITU BERI’S ‘THE LUXURY LEAGUE’ IN PURSUIT OF BRAND IDENTITY FOR INDIA, BRINGS ‘THE LUXURY SYMPOSIUM 2022’ TO GOA

Just like wine is to Italy or cheese has done to France; iconic fashion designer Ritu wants Basmati, coconut or haldi to portray India. And in keeping with this vision, The Luxury League is all set to host ‘The Luxury Symposium 2022’ on March 26 and 27 in North Goa. TLS 2022 will be a cultural collaboration of beauty, design, fashion & creative artforms at Hilton Goa Resort.

Minister of Culture Meenakshi Lekhi will be the Chief Guest at the event. The event also has the support of the Ministry of Tourism of India & Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

The Luxury League is a not-for-profit foundation with its aim being branding culture as luxury, explained Ritu during a press conference here on Thursday. She also emphasised that luxury doesn’t always mean enjoying expensive products or services. “Khadi is a luxury, various handwoven products made in India are much sought-after too. Similarly, for a sleep-deprived, sleep becomes luxury! So, it’s a relative term. But India’s traditional art, craft, tribal creations are in great demand in the west. And we want our country to be known by such indigenous brands,” said Ritu whose organisation is engaged in branding India, globally.

The foundation also aims to create an environment conducive to creative thinking through dialogue and exchange of ideas amongst like-minded people, purveyors of luxury, global decision-makers, and the government.

A consortium of decision-makers, artisans, craftsmen, corporate global brands, consumers as well as the government will come together on the same platform to reimagine the connotations of luxury in a global context.

The symposium will serve as a platform to seek collaborations between global cultures and create a pool of strength through joint-ventures and mutual learning as well as celebrating the importance of design and innovation.
