PANAJI: Margao Cricket Academy (MCA) has just launched its 30th Annual Cricket Coaching Camp, which will run till 21st May 2022. MCA’s work over the last three decades, has been lauded by Goa Cricket Association secretary Vipul Phadke.
Speaking at the inauguration of the camp on Thursday, Phadke said: “The work of the Margao Cricket Academy and its parent body Sportsweek CC, is exemplary as in the last 30 years they have produced several cricketers who have done duty for India, Goa Cricket Association and many clubs in Goa.”
Goa Ranji team’s former vice-captain Hemant Angle, (NIS, NCA Level 1, ICC Level 2) is the guiding light, at the camp. He expressed his delight, on the occasion. “We at Margao Cricket Academy feel gratified that we could coach/ teach students for the last 30 years. We feel proud when we look back and note that MCA is the only academy spreading cricket education for so long when others did it for short time and left. Imparting scientific cricket coaching is the need of the hour and MCA is fulfilling its duty,” Angle told livenewsgoa.com.
Boys and girls of 8 years and above, are attending the camp at Pharmacy Ground, Housing Board, Gogol-Margao. The camp has a flexible approach as a trainee can choose any one session (morning/evening) or can attend both sessions, added a press release.
55 students joined on the first day under the guidance of head coach Hemant Angle, Digesh Angle, Nikhil Katkar and Showmik Angle.
