PANAJI: Goa’s ‘Fight Night 2.0’ will take the centre stage today at Fatorda, South Goa, with our very own Goan – a pioneering MMA athlete and organiser Abdul Rahim Shaikh being one of the favourites to conquer the ring.
Abdul, who has dazzled across 3 different weight categories: 61.2 kg (bantam), 70 kg (lightweight) and 65.9 kg (featherweight); is a multiple times National-level champion and as such- an icon of Goan MMA.
Among his long list of accolades is the feat where Abdul, 27, is the recipient of Brazilian Jiu -Jitsu belt. He has honed his skills under Khabib Nurmagomedov, former Russian professional mixed martial artist.
