Anaya Shukla and Shaurya Dessai stormed into the finals of the Under 11 Girls category as the Ulhas Jewellers BPS All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025 got underway on Monday at the Multipurpose Stadium in Fatorda. Organised by BPS Sports Club in association with the Goa Table Tennis Association, the tournament opened with exciting matches in the Girls’ age group categories.
Earlier in the quarterfinals, Anaya, Tvisha, Shaurya, moved ahead with dominant 3-0 performances over Tasha Mascarenhas, Radha Dessai and Claire George while Sanaz progressed via a walkover from Sailee Talaulicar.
In the Under 15 Girls quarterfinals, top seed Ishita Colaso breezed past Aayushi Amonkar in straight sets, while Samaira Verlekar fought hard to edge out Tisha Shaikh in a close 3-2 battle. Anaya Srivastava and Aarna Lotlikar (seeded two) also secured their spots in the semifinals with solid 3-1 wins over Gianna Maria George and Sachi R Dessai, respectively. With a strong turnout and high-level performances on Day one, the tournament promises to build momentum as the Boys’ categories take the centre stage on Tuesday.
