PANAJI:  ‘Sainik’ originally written by Anuradha Prabhudesai in Marathi, is set to get a Konkani version courtesy Sunetra Jog.

Published by Sanjana Publication, ‘Sainik’ has been translated into Konkani by renowned author and translator Sunetra Jog and it will be released on March 20, 2021 at 4.30 pm. The function will be held at the Multipurpose Auditorium of Directorate of Arts and Culture, Panaji.

Known as the bridge between the Armed Forces and the civilians, writer Anuradha Prabhudesai will be the chief guest at the event. Writer Shefali Vaidya will be guest of honour.

Prabhudesai, who is the founder of Lakshya Foundation, literally breathes the sentiment that ”we are safe here, because our soldiers are there to safeguard our country day and night. They are giving their today for our better tomorrow.”

The book has also been translated in English, named ‘The Soldier’, by Shirish Sahastrabuddhe.

Although the organisers have promised to do the book release function with all care due to Covid-19 situation, the invitees have been asked to wear face masks and carry the invitation card with them.
