As the Bollywood film ‘Article 370’ continues to enjoy great success, Goa is rejoicing at the brilliance of its son of the soil and young director of this political drama, Aditya Suhas Jambhale.
Hailing from Usgao, Aditya was overjoyed at the felicitation accorded to the cast and crew yesterday with the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant gracing the occasion in Panaji.
And riding the peak of fame so far in his stunningly promising career, Aditya revealed the hand that has been the game-changer for this engineer. “I was studying at the Goa Engineering College. That time, I had the privilege to meet the former Chief Minister and former Defence Minister, late Manohar Parrikar, on certain occasions.
“Once I had said (to him) that colleges do not give a budget to go to inter-collegiate competitions. They just don’t give money…and Bhai told me one thing, ‘Jambhale, ‘tu mare complain karpache sodun di’ (you must stop complaining). ‘Tuka ek sangta’ (I will tell you one thing), ‘ho ground tujya khatir lhan asa, vodlya groundacher chad, tu teja khatir jala,’ (This ground is very small for you, go to a bigger ground. You are born for that!),” recollected Aditya the exact Konkani words used by late Manohar bhai.
Aditya stressed that Parrikar’s advice made a deep impression on his mind. “I understood the importance of going into the competition and doing larger than life things…that has been my target,” he stated.
A hard-core proud Goan that he is, Aditya has a great desire of doing world-class work. “…So that everybody in the world should know that Goa is not just about beaches, cafes; Goa has so much to offer. I think, it is very crucial that I try to do it. I need all your blessings, and will move forward with your love. ‘Dev bare karu’ (Thank you very much),” signed off Aditya amidst a thunderous applause by the audience at the Inox multiplex.
