Anushri Naik has set up a title clash with Galya Fernandes in women’s singles while Anshuman Agarwal, Dheeraj Rai, Diljeet Velingker and G. Arvind Kumar have moved into the men’s singles semi-finals, at the Bambolim Beach Resort State Major Ranking Table Tennis Championship, at Peddem.
In the first women’s semis, Anushri Naik eased her way past Ruchi Kirtani winning 3-0 (11-9, 11-8, 11-8) while Galya caused a major upset in the other semis, knocking out top seed Prutha Parrikar with a 3-1 (9-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-8) scoreline.
In U17 girls singles category, Leoma Fernandes, Galya Fernandes, Samaira Soares and Urvi Surlakar have moved into the last four. The concluding ranking championship of the season has been organised by the Goa Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the Sports authority of Goa (SAG) and the North Goa Table Tennis Development Council, and powered by Bambolim Beach Resort.
