PANAJI: Hosts Panjim Gymkhana scored a 7-wicket victory over Union Sports Club Valpoi and entered the semi-finals of Bandodkar T20 cricket tournament at PG ground, Campal here today.
Panjim Gymkhana won the toss and elected to field. The decision proved right as their bowlers skittled out Union Sports Club for 87 runs in 18 overs. Sourav Chari was the top-scorer with 22 runs, Pranal Sawant made 17 runs while Mahendra Kopardekar contributed 10 runs.
Sahdev Khandolkar (16/3), Sher B. Yadav (18/3) and Achit Shingwan (10/2) were the most successful bowlers for PG.
Panjim Gymkhana cruised to 93/3 in 12 overs with Samarth Gawas (45) being the top-scorer. Achit Shingwan (19) and Avinash Gawas (14) were also amongst the runs.
Union Sports Club’s Deepesh Naik, Vijay Kudtarkar and Pranal Sawant took one wicket each.
