PANAJI: Bicholim Cricket Club beat Stamina SC by 143 runs in Panjim Gymkhana’s Bandodkar Trophy (knock-out) cricket tournament at PG ground, Campal, here on Sunday.
Put into bat, Bicholim CC played aggressively and were all out for 259 runs in 35.4 overs. Prajyot Riwankar (65), Mukhtar Kadri (44), Govind Ghadi (39), Basavraj (33 Not Out) and Saif Ali (26) were the main run-getters.
Stamina’s Jayesh Naik, Pritesh Naik and Nisarg Prabhu picked up two wickets each while Ugam Naik, Nitin Kalekar and Saiprasad Naik took a wicket each.
Stamina SC’s chase never got going as their batsmen failed to fire with the entire team being shot out for 116 runs in 25.1 overs. The contributions with the bat were insignificant with Infencio Corriea (27) being the top scorer followed by Rohit Dhareshwar (25).
Dheeraj Narvekar (4/29) and Sarvesh Hoble (3/13) were the chief wicket-takers for Bicholim CC, while Basavraj claimed two wickets and Abhijeet Talekar got one wicket.
