PANAJI: Saibaba Sports Club-Amona beat Panjim Gymkhana ‘B’ by 5 wickets in Bandodkar Trophy (knock-out) cricket tournament organised by Panjim Gymkhana, at Campal on Saturday.
Panjim Gymkhana ‘B’ won the toss and elected to bat. They posted a total of 199/9 in the 43-overs contest. Vinay Palekar (51) and Vaibhav Kadkade (50) played well for PG ‘B’.
Shubham Sinari took three wickets while Kishor Sinari picked up two wickets for Saibaba SC.
In reply, the club from Amona batted very well and achieved victory, reaching 202/5 in 35.5 overs. Rohan Naik produced a fine knock of unbeaten 71 runs to guide his side to a win. Uddesh Gawas remained not out on 24. Avinash Singh and Vaibhav Kadkade claimed two wickets each.
