PANAJI: India is passing through its darkest hour in the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. We the Covid survivors must now pledge to turn ourselves into Covid saviours! Livenewsgoa.com founder and editor Niraj N. Prabhu donated his blood plasma at Goa Medical College, Bambolim, on Wednesday and quickly issued a rallying cry to urge people to join the #covidsaviourarmy and #letsdoitforindia.
Having never ever donated blood due to ‘trypanophobia’ or fear of needles, did donating plasma seem like a mission impossible? “Surprisingly, that was not the case at all. I was pumped up ever since I watched Sachin Tendulkar’s birthday video where my sports icon urged people to donate plasma. I was inspired to do this for India and also seriously motivated to save precious life by doing my bit in the unprecedented battle against Covid-19 pandemic,” says the 43-year-old Merces-based journalist.
“I am delighted that I have overcome the phobia and also supremely satisfied that I am of some help in the medical workers’ immense task of saving as many lives as possible,” added Niraj.
As part of its public interest initiative, Livenewsgoa.com invites Covid survivors to turn into Covid saviours by donating plasma; and share their story with photos, on the unique Goan positive news digital media startup in order to spread the message loud and clear.
