In a move to promote mindfulness, BeyondTheSyllabus (BTS) club at V. M. Salgaocar College of Law (VMSCL) has introduced the Inner Peace Challenge (IPC). The IPC will challenge participants to embrace downtime and mental rest in a world increasingly dominated by constant activity.
The concept of the Inner Peace Challenge is simple yet surprisingly difficult – participants are required to sit quietly for 90 minutes without using their phones, speaking, or even moving excessively. The challenge aims to test individuals’ self-control and focus, offering a rare opportunity to experience the power of calm in a busy world.
“Can you handle doing nothing for 90 minutes?” This is the question BTS poses to participants, encouraging them to discover their inner resilience. This unique event is inspired by South Korea’s “Space Out” competition. Those who successfully complete the challenge will receive official certification, marking their achievement in this endurance test.
Those interested can register for free on beyondthesyllabus.in website. Asst Prof. Ramrai Naik and College Counsellor Trisha Almeida are co-ordinating this event to be held on 20th August. Richa Gomes and Priya Shirodkar are the student co-ordinators.
Beyond The Syllabus (BTS), launched last year in VMSCL, broadens students’ learning through diverse and creative activities. So far, it has organised field trips, workshops, film discussions & screenings, interviews, podcasts and other fun sessions.
