‘CARES’ EDU-TECH RESOURCES LAUNCHED, CHIEF MINISTER PRESENTS CREATIVE CONTENT CREATOR 2024 AWARDS

Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant launched the Educational Resources & Products of CARES – Coding & Robotics Education in Schools Scheme & distributed prizes to the winners of the Goa Codes 2024 competition.

The Chief Minister was delighted with the progress under the CARES Scheme and declared that Goa is now on Swayampurna track in technical education as well and will lead the country in innovative and futuristic Robitics education.

The Goa Codes 2024 competition, which was conducted in three phases at leading schools on taluka and state levels; saw an overwhelming participation of over 4,200 students. Three state-level winners were honoured today for their exceptional achievements.

The CARES Edu-Tech Resources include a comprehensive set of tools such as ICT elective curriculum handbooks for Classes VI, VII, and VIII, design journals, worksheets, a robotics hardware kit, and modules on programming, foundational data science, and artificial intelligence. Bebras India Challenge 2024, an international computational competition and Goa Codes 2024 competitions were held under CARES. In the Bebras India Challenge, Goa shined with 4 First Ranks & 22 Goan students ranked in top 100.

Goa has emerged as a trailblazer by being the first state to introduce a program like CARES, which has been implemented across 442 schools, benefiting 65,000 students. In the academic year 2024-25, 10,000 students are actively shaping their future through the CARES elective curriculum.

“This initiative is a significant step towards achieving Swayampurnata (self-reliance) in technical education,” remarked Dr Sawant.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the students, teachers, parents, and schools involved in this transformative journey. Together, we are building a brighter future for Goa’s youth,” underlined the Chief Minister.

Dr Sawant lauded the officials for CARES success. Education Secretary Prasad Lolayekar, IAS; Director of DTE Dr. Vivek Kamat, Director of DoE Shailesh Zingade, Nodal Officer for CARES Dr. Vijay Borges were also present.

The CM also awarded CARES Creative Content Creator 2024 awards to Amol Naik of Murgaon High School, Sada, and Aditya Naik of Shantadurga High School, Bicholim.
