Swastik Vidyalay, Priol, will run the
‘Chess in Schools’ project to be managed by Ponda Taluka Chess Association (PTCA), under the guidance of Goa Chess Association (GCA) and supported by All India Chess Federation (AICF).
The initiative, which was inaugurated by Goa Chess Association secretary Ashesh Keni, will see 32 children will learn chess during the academic year. Chess class will be conducted once a week.
PTCA president Sagar Sakordekar, secretary Amogh Namshiker; Shirish Amshekar, Headmaster of Swastik Vidyalay; Sandesh Naik, Joint-Secretary, PTCA, Damodar Zambaulikar, Vice-President of Goa Chess Associaton, and coach Milind Gaude were present during the inauguration.
Chief guest Ashesh Keni appreciated efforts of Ponda Taluka Chess Association for promoting chess in village schools.
