CHIEF MINISTER DR. PRAMOD SAWANT HOPES NEW RESEARCH WILL BOOST CASHEW FARMERS’ INCOME

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant urged farmers to carry out cashew plantation by replacing the unproductive trees those were planted many years back.

Addressing the participants at the ‘National Conference on Cashew: Sustainable Cashew Production Challenges & Opportunities’, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the new research in the Cashew crop sector can enable the farmers to ward off the challenges and raise their incomes.

Earlier, Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant  inaugurated the 2-day National Conference where experts from different parts of India are present. The conference has been organised by Directorate of Cashew Nut and Cocoa Development in association with Directorate of Agriculture, Government of Goa at Raj Bhavan, Dona Paula.
