Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant launched the nation-wide ‘NAKSHA’ Pilot Programme in Goa under DILRMP, at a function organised by Department of Settlement & Land Records in Panaji on Tuesday.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled the logo and released Information Booklet regarding ‘NAKSHA’. Commissioner cum Secretary (Revenue), Sandip Jacques, IAS, Collector North, Dr. Sneha Gitte, IAS, Collector South, Egna Cleetus, IAS, Director, Settlement & Land Records, Rohit Kadam & others were also present.
Dr Sawant emphasised the significance of the technological advancements incorporated in ‘NAKSHA’, which will reflect the state of the area, type of construction and/or encroachment with a number of benefits towards the planning exercise for the Urban Local Bodies.
‘NAKSHA’ is being implemented in more than 150 urban local bodies across India including 3 from Goa, namely – Corporation of City of Panaji, Margao Municipal Council and Cuncolim Municipal Council. Survey of India is the technical partner.
The Government of India has sanctioned the pilot programme National Geo Spatial Knowledge based Land Survey of Urban Habitation (NAKSHA) under digital India Land Records Modernisation programme (DILRMP). This initiative is to modernise urban land records to advance Geo Spatial technologies.
