The success of any government scheme is assessed on its reach and outcome. As such, Goa Government’s ‘Coding and Robotics Education in Schools’ (CARES) initiative has been springing up positive results on a regular basis. Recently, Pradnya High School in Pernem taluka secured the second place in the ‘Line Following’ category at the World STEM & Robotics Olympiad (WSRO) India Regional 2024. The Korgao-based school beat off the challenge from 36 teams from all over India.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant congratulated the successful school for its impressive achievement, while also emphasising on the value that CARES has added to the school education sector in the state.
“It is a proud moment for Goa to witness the success of the Coding and Robotics Education in Schools Scheme and STEM Education Initiative…Your remarkable achievement will inspire and motivate aspiring students and encourage young minds to excel in robotics and technology,” stated Dr Sawant.
The Pradnya HS team mentored by teacher Prasad Gadekar; comprised Dilraj Kavthankar, Mayank Kavthankar, Ayush Salgaonkar, Nirbhay Talkar and Siddharth Dhupkar.
The fine performance of young Goan students in the Coding and Robotics event, is a testament to the pioneering introduction of the Coding and Robotics Faculty at the school level to strengthen the basics and standard of technical education.
