DAIVADNYA CRICKET CUP 2025: DAMBAB XI & DAKSHIN WARRIORS TOP

Dambab XI emerged the champions while Dynamic Cricketers had to be content with a Runners-up finish in the men’s category; Dakshin Warriors won the women’s competition while Bardez Regals ended up as the runners-up, at the 7th edition of Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association’s (AGDBYA’s) Daivadnya Cricket Cup 2025; held on 1st and 2nd March 2025 at SAG ground, Fatorda. 

The concluding ceremony of the cricket event was attended by Dr. Lt. Col (Retd) Vinod Dyaneshwar Salkar as the chief guest and Mukesh Ghatwal, Music Composer, Singer, as the Guest of Honour. Simran Santosh Haldankar was felicitated during the function for securing Bronze Medal for India at South Asian Karate Championship 2024 powered by Ulhas Jewellers.

In all, 14 teams from all over Goa took part in the tournament including two women’s teams. Seema R. Vernekar, newly-elected President-AGDBYA welcomed the guests and other dignitaries and briefed about all the events, activities and other social service carried out by the association throughout the year.

Dr. Lt. Col (Retd) Vinod Dyaneshwar Salkar appreciated the efforts of AGDBYA for conducting such types of event professionally and thanked the association for inviting him.

The winning team with the runner-up team and other individuals received trophies from the guests in a grand function that was attended by more than 300 people. Vaibhavi Bandodkar and Vishal Vernekar compered the function. Sahil Lotlikar, Secretary-AGDBYA proposed the vote of thanks.

Following individual prizes were awarded: Man of the Tournament – Ayush Verlekar; Best Batsman – Amrut Verlekar; Best Bowler – Diptesh Haldankar; Man of the Final –  Yash Kasvankar; Best catch –  Mithil Karekar; Maximum sixes – Ayush Verlekar; Best upcoming player – Yash Kasvankar. Women’s category: Player of the Match – Snehal Walke.
