Directorate of Higher Education’s Goa State Higher Education Council in association with ‘Mugafi’, will host ‘Creators Connect – Unleash Your Creativity’ event on February 27 in Panaji.
The day-long programme consists of panel discussions by experienced writers and musicians, an overview of writing screenplays and songwriting, networking opportunities with professionals, and showcase of talent in front of professionals and peers. Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant will be gracing the occasion.
Following is the brief information of artistes to be present at the ‘Creators Connect’ –
Prashant Pandey is one of India’s leading screenwriters who has penned films like Sarkar Raj, Raktacharitra & Poorna. The visionary writer has created characters for rank newcomers like Ananya Pandey to legends such as Amitabh Bachchan. Prashant is passionate about grassroots cinema movement and alternate non commercial narratives. Prashant also had a brief stint as a journalist for ANI-REUTERS and later as a creative head with Zee TV talent hunt SAREGAMAPA.
Sumrit Shahi is a bestselling author, screenwriter and speaker. He has written three books, over 1500 episodes for Indian television and 10 web series in the capacity of story, screenplay and dialogue writer.As a TedX speaker, he has delivered lectures in colleges like IIT-D, VIT, Symbiosis, Narsee Monjee etc. In 2015, he was chosen by Hindustan Times in the list of Top 30 under 30 young achievers in the country, terming him as a ‘writing rockstar of the young’.
Akshay Johar, known professionally as MojoJojo, is an Indian DJ and record producer. Having made his debut as a bass guitarist with the rock band Paradigm Shift, he later gained more prominence as an independent artist and producer. MojoJojo began playing piano at the age of ten and later picked up guitar during his time at college. After playing as bassist in such bands as the Gravy Train and The Doppler Effect, he made a transition into record production in 2015. His debut album, “Shots Fired” was released in 2015, earning him accolades including a Radio City Freedom Award for Best Electronica Artist and a nomination for a Global Indian Music Academy Award.
Raagini Kavathekar is an Indian Playback Singer who hails from the culturally embellished State of Chattisgarh. Music flows in her genes, she was born to musically rich parents with her father being an exponent of Tabla and her mother, a vocal trainer. Raagini has sung songs for numerous Marathi Films like Sarva Line Vyasta Ahe, Gadbad Jhaali, Nishkarsh and TV Series such as Jai Maa Durge, Mahabharat, Mata ki Chowki and many more. Despite being a Maharashtrian, Raagini has made a remarkable identity in Rajasthani Folk Music Industry with numerous releases from Veena Music. She often collaborates with Music Producer and Composer Dony Hazarika and has 7 originals released from Times Music, Saregama, Zee Music Company.
Dony Hazarika started his career as a Music Composer and Music Producer in the year 1995 and has sailed through all turbulences to etch out a position for him in the world of music. His training in music from Tabla exponent Dr.Dilip Ranjan Borthakur has always backed his various endeavours including music production. Dony inter-weaves folk music from Northeast and International music to create a different yet beautiful flavor in his compositions. The best example of this would be his album ‘Bohnimaan..The Folk Flows’. His work in the album ‘Aaya Bihu Jhoom ke’ which is the first Album of Assamese Bihu songs in Hindi, reflects his quality to create something out of the box. With this album which was released nationwide, Hazarika received a lot of accolades.
