DHE & NIEPA ORGANISE NEP 2020 WORKSHOP FOR ACADEMIC LEADERS

Goa State Higher Education Council (GSHEC) and Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) in association with National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), have organised a three-day workshop from today at Seminar Hall, New SCERT Building, Porvorim; as a part of implementation process of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).

The workshop under the ageis of Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI),  ‘Capacity Building in Leadership Development of the Academic Administrators and Principals of Colleges for Implementation of NEP 2020’ will conclude on 29th February.

Prof. Shashikala Wanjari, Vice Chancellor, National Institute of Educational Planning & Administration (NIEPA); Devendra Kumar Sharma, Deputy Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India; Secretary, Education, Prasad Lolayekar IAS, Government of Goa; Bhushan Savoikar, Director, Directorate of Higher Education; Programme Director, Prof.  Kumar Suresh, NIEPA; Prof.(Dr.) Niyan Marchon, Convenor of Workshop & DHE, graced the occasion. Other resource persons from NIEPA, New Delhi, were – Prof. A.K. Singh, Prof. Mona Khare, Prof. P.K. Misra and  Prof. K. Srinivas.

Principals, NEP Coordinators, Teaching Learning and  Educational Technology (TLET) co-ordinators from 50 colleges across the state of Goa, are attending the workshop.

The DHE-NIEPA initiative has following objectives:
• Implement the significant recommendations of NEP 2020 at the institutional level.
• Develop and implement institutional development plan.
• Prepare a plan for promoting multidisciplinary education and introducing multiple entry and exit in the institutions.
• Ensure holistic development of learners and create a viable opportunity for sustainable knowledge building and research.
• Embrace blended learning and digital initiatives in education and initiate skill-based education in the institution.
• Mobilize resources and create an ecosystem for quality-driven outcome-based education in the institution.
