DHS DRIVE IN CANACONA OVER SUSPECTED DENGUE CASES

With the onset of Monsoons, the Vector-borne diseases raise their ugly head. However, prompt action from the Directorate of Health Services provides timely help to fight the menace.

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has informed that a drive in Gaodongri-Canacona has managed to check the suspected Dengue outbreak.

Rane gave the details on his social media X, posting: “Following a surge in suspected dengue cases in Gaodongri Panchayat, prompt action was taken to address the issue. House-to-house inspections were conducted to eradicate breeding sites, fever surveys were performed, and targeted awareness campaigns were launched, including the distribution of educational pamphlets.

“Antilarval measures were implemented in stagnant water areas, alongside fogging operations to eliminate adult mosquitoes. Source reduction activities were also undertaken with local laborers. These interventions led to a noticeable decline in reported cases, demonstrating the effectiveness of the implemented remedies.”
