Minerva Academy from Punjab hammered nine goals past the Goa based Sesa Football Academy in the opening game of the Dream Sports Championship-AIFF Junior League at the Raia grounds in South Goa on Sunday morning. The final scoreline read, 9-1 in favour of Minerva.
The Minerva boys were far superior to the Sesa boys in both technique and speed and literally wove a web around the hapless Goan team throughout the fast-paced game. Konthoujam Denamoni and Nitin Kumar Pasi scored two goals each for Minerva, while Royden Carvalho scored the lone Sesa goal in the 58th minute.
In another game, Bengaluru FC hammered four goals past a listless, Jamshedpur FC team winning 4-0. CH Sakip scored a brilliant hat-trick for the Bengaluru team.
Elsewhere, Football 4 Change beat the famed, East Bengal team 3-0, with Dinglen Haokip scoring a superb hat-trick. Sreenidhi Deccan and SSE-BFC played out a goalless draw in a closely contested match.
