Among various achievements and decisions announced under Directorate of Social Welfare, are the Financial Assistance to ‘Dilasa’ under the Palliative Care Center Scheme and Goa becoming free from manual scavenging.
Goa has become the first state to employ 100 per cent Mechanised Scavenging Systems. Monetary assistance and benefits have been extended to the survivors of sanitation workers who lost lives in manual scavenging.
Under the Palliative Care Center Scheme, financial assistance and certificate was presented to ‘Dilasa’. The said scheme entails provision ot financial assistance to registered organisations for running homes for senior citizens suffering from chronic and debilitating diseases including Alzheimer, Parkinsons etc.
The announcements continued with the arrangement of a special train for Mahakumbh – from Goa to Prayagraj, under the Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Scheme.
