FLY91, a pure-play regional airline headquartered in Goa will commence direct flights on the Goa-Pune-Goa and Pune-Sindhudurg-Pune sectors on weekends effective from August 31.
Two flights will operate on the Goa-Pune-Goa route on Saturday and Sunday, with flight IC1376 (GOX-PNQ) departing the Manohar International Airport (MIA) in Goa at 0635 hrs to arrive at the Pune International Airport at 0740 hrs. Meanwhile, flight IC1375 (PNQ-GOX) will depart from the Pune International Airport at 1055 hrs to arrive at the MIA, Goa, at 1210 hrs. This new route strengthens the airline’s commitment to enhancing regional air connectivity, particularly between key tourism hubs and emerging destinations.
Additionally, for the first time, FLY91 will also commence direct flights connecting Sindhudurg and Pune on weekends effective from August 31, a significant milestone in regional air travel, especially within Maharashtra. FLY91’s flight IC5302 (PNQ-SDW) departs from the Pune International Airport at 0805 hrs and arrives at the Sindhudurg Airport at 0910 hrs, while flight IC5303 (SDW-PNQ) will depart from Sindhudurg Airport at 0930 hrs to arrive at the Pune International Airport at 1035 hrs on Saturday and Sunday.
The Goa-Pune-Goa route is expected to boost tourism and business travel, offering greater convenience for travellers between these two popular destinations. Goa, famous for its beaches and culture, will now be more accessible to Pune’s residents, boosting leisure travel. The new route also offers travellers from Goa easier access to Pune’s cultural, educational and IT avenues.
FLY91’s new Sindhudurg-Pune-Sindhudurg connection is particularly noteworthy, as it marks the first time these regions have been directly connected by air. Sindhudurg, a picturesque coastal region in Maharashtra, is an emerging destination known for its natural beauty and historical significance. The direct flight will make it easier for tourists to discover Sindhudurg’s beaches, forts, and temples, while also supporting the local economy by bringing in more visitors.
Manoj Chacko, Founder, MD, and CEO of FLY91, commented: “Our goal is to enhance last-mile air connectivity in India and these new routes are a step in that direction. Connecting Goa and Sindhudurg with Pune will not only facilitate travel but also open up new opportunities for tourism and business between these regions. FLY91 is committed to starting daily connectivity between Goa and Pune, subject to availability of slots at the Pune International Airport.”
FLY91 operates out of Manohar International Airport, Mopa, Goa, which serves as its home base. As part of its growth strategy, the airline plans to connect over 50 cities in the next five years, with a focus on tier 2 and tier 3 cities across India.
