FRENCH FOOTBALLER VIKASH DHORASOO TO ARRIVE IN PANAJI ON APRIL 3

Vikash Dhorasoo, former footballer and member of the French World Cup runners-up team of 2006, will be in Panaji on Monday, April 3.

Dhorasoo, who is Mauritian-French, of Indian origin is touring Southern India, the land of his ancestors at the invitation of Decathlon, the French Institute in India and Alliance Francaise, the French language teaching and cultural institute; stated a press release.

Accompanying Dhorasoo on his India tour is Vincent Bernière, writer, journalist and publisher. Bernière has published “J’Perds Pas La Boule” an illustrated biography dedicated to Vikash Dhorasoo focusing on his footballing career and his Telugu family background. The French duo are both bullish about India’s footballing future. While Dhorasoo says, “India is the future continent of football,” Berniere opines, “Soon, football in India will go through an exceptional growth.”

On Monday, April 3, Dhorasoo will interact with Brahmanand Sankhwalkar, chairman, Goa Football Development Council (GFDC) and the FC Goa under 14 girls team at the Alliance Francaise office in Fontainhas, Panaji at 1700 hrs and will later take part in a panel discussion on his illustrated biography with writer Aniruddha Sengupta and sports journalist Marcus Mergulhao at the Panjim Inn, Fontainhas at 1800 hrs. Both events are free and open to the public.
